Multiverse: Probability 10
Fantastic Four HQ

"Reed! What is going on?" Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm followed Reed Richards as he raced from the hangar where they had just stowed the Fantasticar to his lab. They were joined by Stephen Strange, Professor Xavier, Jean Grey and Sue Richards.  The rest of the X-Men were racing back to Xavier's School for the Gifted to help Storm calm the panicking students.

One look at the sky had sent Reed racing for the Fantisticar with the others trailing behind.  Some, like Johnny Storm, never once took their eyes from the turbulent green skies.

The Fantasitcar had barely had time to lift from the ground before Reed had nosed it around and sent it speeding back towards the Fantastic Four HQ.  Already people around the world were in a near state of panic and government leaders from the US and other hero teams from around the world were demanding answers.  Reed had even gotten a message from Dr. Doom offering to set aside their ongoing feud in order to pool their resources if needed.

Reed had ignored them all. Instead he utilized the limited resources he had available in the Fantasticar to access his computers back at the Baxter Building.   It just wasn't enough.

"It isn't good, if it is what I think it is." Reed responded as the doors to his lab slid aside.  His hands snaked out across the room and started typing at a console before his body caught up.  "It is, damnitall!" he cursed, as he read the data scrolling across a single monitor.  He stepped back and looked back towards the others that had followed him and now stood behind him, waiting.

"Our world has been.enclosed.in a bubble of energy similar to that which Jenny now uses." He stated.

"Jenny is doing this?" Ben Grimm scoffed.

"No." Reed shook his head. "I said similar. Whether she realizes it or not, Jennifer Walters is still the She-Hulk underneath whatever else she has become.  Since her encounter with the Parallax entity, she has been infused with tremendous cosmic energy. Whenever she uses that power it leaves an energy signature that is almost exactly like this one.  Almost. Jenny also leaves the faintest trace of a Gamma Radiation signature.  Nothing dangerous or even noticeable without the precision instruments I have here. The cosmic energy bubble that surrounds our world is pure and I have seen it only one other time: When the Multiverse Starheart pulled our world into this Multiverse!"

Professor Xavier moved his hover chair forward a few inches, intending to speak.  He did not get the chance. Between one second and the next hell was unleashed!

Every living thing in the world was ripped apart, their atoms scattered and then reassembled.and time restarted.

"What the hell?" Ben Grimm moaned, clutching his head between his rock-like hands.  Johnny Storm stood wide eyed and then crumbled to the floor. Charles Xavier was still, his eyes closed and his chin resting on his chest.

Though they had staggered Reed, Stephen, Jean, and Sue were already shaking off the effects of..whatever it was.  As Jean bent to check on Xavier and Sue dropped to her knees to check on her fallen brother, Reed was activating a comm. unit to check on their visitor, Mercy Vengeance.

A monitor came alive, showing the interior of the Med Bay where Mercy stood, her eyes shut and her arms and wings spread wide. Her eyes opened and Reed thought he saw confusion in them before a green haze enveloped her and she began to fade away!

Xavier drew a deep breath, shuddered, and then raised his head.

"That was decidedly uncomfortable." He announced

Reed turned to where Sue was still checking out Johnny Storm.

"I believe he is okay." Sue reported, looking back at her husband. "He is simply unconscious. We should probably move him to the Med Bay and check him out, just in case."  She turned and looked first at Jean and then at Professor Xavier.

"Are you okay, Charles?" She asked. "Do we need to get you down to the Med Bay as well?"

"I am fine, Sue." Xavier nodded. "Though I felt as if my head had exploded."

"A very apt description." Stephen remarked. "Very apt in that is almost exactly what did happen."

"Indeed?" Xavier tilted his head to one side, looking at both Reed and Stephen.

"Pretty much." Reed confirmed. His eyes still on the monitor that now showed an empty Med-Bay. "According to my computers time was just stopped, stretched, and then restarted. All between one second and the next.  During that brief instant, our world was scanned, taken apart, and reassembled."  He stopped and shook his head. "That is not entirely accurate.  Not just our world, but our entire universe.  Everything within our reality."  He paused and turned to Ben. "Sue is probably right that we should get Johnny to the Med Bay, but I would like you to check it out, first."  He pointed to the empty monitor.  "Mercy Vengeance was in there..and she just vanished. I want to make sure it is safe before we send any one in there."

Ben nodded and headed out the door.

Shaking his head, Reed turned to look back at his instruments and noting that several of the monitors on the wall had gone dark.   He rechecked the readings and sighed.

"Reed?" Stephen asked, stepping up beside him.  Xavier moved his hover chair close as well.

"Several years ago a wave of energy swept through Otherverse and yanked Kara and the others out and placed them within the Probability we call Probability One in this Multiverse." He said. "That same wave of energy..that Ripple.just swept through the entire Multiverse.  Not another Ripple.  The same Ripple."  He pointed at the darkened screens. "I placed monitoring stations in all nine of the other Prime Probabilities. Though the barriers surrounding those Prime Probabilities prevented me from getting more than casual observations I was still receiving some signals from those monitoring stations. These monitors were tied to the stations in Probabilities 3, 6, 7, and 8."  He dropped his hand and looked at the others. "Those probabilities are gone!"

"Kara, Rogue, Jenny, and the Twins." Stephen shook his head. "They were in Probability 3!"

"I know." Reed whispered. "I know."

No one could miss the sudden green glow that lit up the control room.

"Reed Richards.  Stephen Strange. Professor Xavier.   Your assistance is required."

Multiverse: Probability 4
Fortress of Solitude

"NO...No.not again!"

Linda Kent, Superwoman to the rest of the world, clutched the right arm of her husband with one hand while, with the other, she grasped her daughter Ariel to her side.

Clark Kent, Superman, stood silently, watching the scenes that displayed on the emergency monitors in his Fortress of Solitude while a young blonde orphan from another reality stood to his left.

"Kal?  What is it Kal?"  Kara Zor-El demanded. Though she had been a captive of the monster Xenon and had endured horrendous torture, she had no clue what it was about the turbulent Green skies that now encircled the globe that had Linda in a near panic.

It had been years since heroes from Probability One, The Realm, Alterverse, Otherverse, and the Inheritors Continuverse had rescued her from the clutches of Xenon and brought her here.  During the time since, she had rarely seen Linda lose her cool.  Yet the sight of those skies seemed to have her in a near panic!

"The skies are green, not red, love." Clark/Kal wrapped his arm around the waist of his wife and pulled her close. "It isn't the same thing, I don't think.  But," he turned to look down at his adopted cousin from another reality, "I don't know, Kara.  I just don't know!"  He paused and, extracting himself from Linda's clutches, he stepped towards a communications console. "But Hal Jordan or those Guardians of his might know!"

Multiverse: Probability 5
Metropolis

"What is it, Clark? What's causing this?"  Lois Kent stood on the balcony of the apartment she shared with her husband, looking up at the emerald green skies.  Clouds of darker green roiled and swirled and bright green lightning flashed. "Is the Anti-Monitor back?"

Clark Kent frowned and shook his head, the grey hair around his temples had spread and much of the rest of the hair on his head was now sprinkled with grey.

"No, it isn't the Anti-Monitor." He said.  "I don't know what it is.." He paused, thinking. "But Alan Scott might know!"

Primalverse
Peregrine Island
Portal Corps.

Tina McIntyre burst from the elevator, pushing people aside as she raced towards Portal Bay 3 with Over-Mayor Alexis Cole on her heels.

As the massive doors leading into the Portal Bay slid open Tina came to an abrupt halt, rocking back on her heels as she took in the view.  She stood upper platform, looking down at the massive ring of Portal Three on the floor below, not believing what she was seeing.

"Damnit Tina, what the hell is going on?" Alexis demanded as she finally caught up to her friend.  Tina pointed down at the portal.

"That!" She growled. "For months the portals have refused to function. Suddenly, all six of them flare up and go into high gear.  But that.that isn't normal!"

Alexis looked down and gasped.just then realizing that the entire bay, usually washed with bright white light, was totally illuminated with a bright green glow that emanated from the portal at the other end of the bay.

"The portals don't glow!" Tina announced. "When activated, the center of that ring appears to be a shiny silver liquid.  Yet every single one of them now has that dark green center and are glowing a bright green!"  She turned and raced down a ramp to the left until she came to a console.  Her fingers flew over the keyboard and she studied the data that flashed on the screen in front of her, shaking her head.

"This just isn't possible!" She muttered.  She glanced at Alexis and shrugged. "According to this console.and every other console it is tied to..there is absolutely no power going into the portal.  We shut down the entire complex months ago and have only activated one portal every so often to run some tests.  This isn't that portal!"

"Tina!"  Alexis gasped and eyes locked onto something only she could see. "Megan?" She whispered. She stepped past Tina and reached a hand into the air.as if to grasp someone.and Tina watched, horrified, as her long time friend began to fade away.  Had the entire bay not been awash with the bright green glow.Tina might have noticed the dim green glow that surrounded her friend as she disappeared.

The Multiverse
The Remainder

In Probability after Probability it was the same.  All alternate versions of each other.yet all covered in the same angry emerald green skies; the same rolling thunder.the same bright green lightning flashing unceasingly.

In many cases, only a relatively few individuals were able to see the green skies and lightning or hear the thunder. In some, however, everyone could see and hear; and in almost every such case, panic reigned as many took the skies to be signs of impending doom.  Tragedy struck some of these as panicked governments assumed the skies to be due to some action of an enemy country..and the nuclear weapons flew!

In others, wiser head prevailed and lines of communications were opened before rash action was taken.  Though there were those who were naturally skeptical, it became obvious that the skies were not the result of enemy activity and that they were just as scared and confused.

When after hours and then days of endless green skies persisted with no other obvious effects, life returned to some semblance of normalcy.yet no one could be blamed for being skittish or casting numerous glances upward.wondering when the hammer would fall!
